Character Building
All players are required to have a backstory for their character. A well-developed backstory promotes realism and enhances the overall roleplay experience for everyone involved.
Creating a character with clear characteristics and traits helps define their personality, motivations, and moral boundaries. These traits guide your decisions in-character and influence how your character interacts with others.
Positive Traits
Loyalty – Stands by friends, family, or an organization no matter the cost.
Kindness – Shows compassion and empathy toward others.
Integrity – Acts with honesty and strong moral principles.
Generosity – Willing to give and help without expecting something in return.
Self-Control – Maintains composure and resists impulsive behavior.
Patience – Takes the time to think and remain calm in stressful situations.
Tolerance – Accepts differences in others and avoids unnecessary conflict.
Dark/Negative Traits:
Rudeness – Disrespectful and inconsiderate in interactions.
Greed – Obsessed with wealth or gain, often at the expense of others.
Selfishness – Acts in personal interest, disregarding consequences to others.
Unforgiving – Holds grudges and seeks revenge rather than resolution.
Character's Purpose Have a real purpose for your character with a consistent or developing story. Your character should make sense within the world and evolve in a believable way.
Example of what not to do: Creating a single character who is simultaneously the CEO of a company and a homeless drug user.
Story Develop your character over time. Start with small, realistic scenarios—whether your character leans toward good or dark traits. Progress naturally, working your way up to larger, more complex storylines instead of making major jumps in just a few hours.
Building your character gradually helps:
Establish a history within the CAD system
Create a recognizable name in San Andreas
Promote realism and immersion in the server
This approach leads to more meaningful and enjoyable roleplay for both you and others around you.
Subject A is a positive and hardworking individual who moves to San Andreas with just $1,000 in his pocket. Determined to make an honest living, he sets up a small roadside mechanic shop and begins working daily.
Thanks to his optimistic attitude and reliable service, he quickly builds a strong customer base. Word spreads, and more people begin to seek out his services. After a few months of consistent work and growing profits, he saves enough to lease a building off of Route 68, expanding his business and continuing to develop his career as a full-time mechanic.
Subject B suddenly opens a car dealership in Los Santos with unexplained wealth. Without any backstory or development, he begins murdering customers based on their hair color, later becoming a serial killer. He then randomly becomes a chef and starts poisoning patrons, while also robbing banks, stores, and even his own dealership—all with no consistent motivation or logical character progression.
